Potassium Chloride occurs as colorless, elongated, prismatic, or cubical crystals, or as a white, granular powder,odorless, taste salty, it is stable in air.Soluble in water, soluble in glycerol, insoluble in alcohol.

 

Potassium chloride can be used in food industry as salt substitute, nutrient supplement, gelling agent, yeast food, flavoring agent, flavoring agent, pH value control agent, etc.

 

  1. Nutrient supplement: As a potassium nutrient in food industry, compared with other potassium nutrients, it has the characteristics of cheap price, high potassium content and easy storage. Such as functional drink , replenish electrolytes (potassium).
  2. Yeast food: It is used as a fermentation nutrient in fermented foods to provide food for yeast.
  3. Gelling agent: Due to the strong chelation and gelling characteristics of potassium ions, food-grade  potassium chloride can be used as a gelling agent in food, general carrageenan, gellan gum and other colloidal foods will use food-grade potassium chloride.
  4. Salt substitute: Same as salt, Potassium Chloride can be used in agricultural products, aquatic products, livestock products, fermented products, condiments, cans, convenience food flavoring agents, etc. It is also used in low sodium salts.
